medical treatment in an Iraq hospital ? This was before our freeing of the Iraqi people,so that's not the reason. Could it be there was a tie?

There was a tie between Al-Qaeda, and Saddam. Hillary told us back in 02. The Libs don't like to deal with that fact NOW, but there was a tie.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

Al Zarqawi was in Iraq before the invasion. The only thing, he was in a camp in the Northern No-Fly Zone. Which happened to be under US control. The Defense Dept. Sent the White House 3 different plans to take him out. All plans were turned down. The administration needed Al Zarqawi in Iraq even if he was under our protection. The 9/11 Commission found no link between Hussein and Al Qaeda. And Bush himself his said that there was no connection between the 2. Of course this was after the invasion.

Over the years quite a number of terrorists and other unsavory types have gone to Iraq to hide out or get help; partly because it was accessible to outside travel and partly because the (relatively) Westernized culture made for better medical care and an improved standard of living. They weren't necessarily working with Saddam.

Saddam and Usama *did* have communication; even if they didn't get along, they had a common enemy and at least an interest in staying out of each others way. It's known that al Qaeda had training camps in northeast Iraq, and highly likely that some of their people trained at Salman Pak. That doesn't necessarily indicate the exact degree or nature of any 'relationship' between the two, however.

Most likely many details of the links between Hussein and al Qaeda, if any exist, are being kept under wraps for security reasons.

This will be great reading what the nut case conservatives have to say. They'll try so hard to say there is a connection between Al-Qaeda and Saddam. Or I like the blame the Clinton's routine. Not that Bush and Cheney are full of crap or are idiots or anything like that. If in doubt somehow try to bring the Clintons in.

They tried the old "Saddam has WMD's" routine and nobody's buying that one. So lets see how many try this excuse for why we went in Iraq.

My God do you live in a box? Their have been numerous reports that Saddam and Osama couldn't stand one another, Not to mention all the government and independent investigations that said their was absolutely no connection between Iraq and AL-Qaeda. No disrespect, but try reading some real news and not just believing the propaganda that Bush and Co. spoon feed the nation!

... so Iran hates terrorists? I didn't know that?... but anyway...

someone going to a HOSPITAL in a nation, is FAR from a political link... I would say nice try, but it's not even that...

that's like saying if one of the 9-11 hijackers ever went to the hospital in America, that America had something to do with 9-11...

Do any of you even know what PROOF means... or LOGIC... everything you bring up is not even close... I mean do you even think before you say something? I mean it doesn't even come close to making sense?

mojojo66: OH Hillary said it... it must be TRUE!... I'm not that naive... are you? Bush said there wasn't a link? I guess I'll believe Bush and you can believe Hillary...HAHAHAHAHA... politics... odd bedfellows?

Al Zarqawi went to Iraq b/c the Americans couldn't get him there. He wasn't treated after arriving until he got approval from Saddam. That means that there was no preexisting relationship between them.

Freed from what, it seems to me the last time I looked there was an uninvited army running the country, and not very well. Saw-dam would never allow al-Qaeda in the country it would threaten his power base. This is a man that tried to have his son killed. Give it a break.
