I'm trying to place a jpg onto a picture I made, but the jpg has a white background. How do I make the white background go away so its just the object of the jpg and my picture???

If you had photoshop I could tell you, Illustrator I would have to mess around with it a bit more, which I did, looks like there is a magic wand too in illustrator try that out. But in case you do have PS, I would use the Magic wand and then hold down ctrl I think it is, but that depends if the background image is a solid color, or does it have trees and stuff like that. Or you can press Q and then just use the paint brush and paint, but use the magic wand first and get as much as you can and then do the Q thing so you can get more detailed.

Good luck dude!

Another option... if you have Illustrator CS2 there is a handy new feature that lets you live trace objects you import. It works best on 1 color images, but you can choose and manipulate how it traces it and can do color if you want. You would just click on your image and go under Object (or at the top of the screen) and choose live trace. Then choose Expand or Live Paint for it to be converted to outlines. Then just select the white background with the direct selection tool (white pointer) and you should be able to delete it! I hope this helps. I guess it won't if you don't have the newest version...

In Photoshop, you can use the magic wand feature to outline the object only to cut and paste it onto your picture. Because the backgroung is white, you will be able to use this feature to get only the object to move onto yout picture.
