Without knowing the circumstances of how/why you new friend stole your old frriends bf, do you really want to be with a gf who steals bfs? And then you do have a longer friendship with your old friend. But in anycase, you should explain to both of them that that situation has nothing to do with you.

You can still be friends with both of them just let them know that you like them both and if they really value your friendship they will not argue in your presence. You should not have to choose any one person over the other. If they want to make you do that then they aren't really your friends. And besides guys are not worth losing friendships over. If he really wanted to be with her he would have stayed. Maybe your friend should grateful that now she knows he's fickle and isn't worth her time.

First of all don't lie to either of them. That is asking for trouble. Just explain to both of them that you want to remain friends with each of them. Ask that they not involve you in their conflict. If one of them starts talking nasty about the other in your presence ask them not to do so. This can work. As long as they are both mature enough to respect your feelings. If they are true friends they will understand. If not they were not worth being friends with anyway. No matter what you do don't give in to gossiping about one to the other. Good luck to you.

Try to hang out with each of them separately and don't tell them but make sure you don't talk about it at all. That way if they ever find out you know them both and you are friends with both you can just say "Oh i didn't know what's going on".

Sit them down and let them talk to each other and resolve each others conflicts.
