I live in MI and I need one more class to obtain the AA versus 4 class to complete the medical assistant program. I know I know....talk with my counselor,but I thought that I ask until monday....THANKS!!!

Probably - it all depends on the state you live in. Most subs are little more than glorified baby-sitters and seldom if ever do any actual teaching. In Texas, you don't even need a degree to sub - I know community college students who are just starting and are working as subs.

However, ordinarily thanks to NCLB (No Child Left Behind) you might be required to have a BA and some sort of cert? but it depends on the state and the school district.

In Indiana it is up to the school district to decide what they will require. They used to require 60 hr of college, but subs are so hard to find that our corporation requires you to have graduated high school and be at least 21.

yes in most states here there is such a teacher shortage that the teachers are allowed to teach as long as they are going to school and working on getting their teaching certificate.

i think in most states you need 60 college credits to substitute teach. check it out. good luck!
