because no other sport can come close to the passion it arrouses in people - the rivalry between fans is almost tribal (country v country or town v town), which gives a special edge to the atmosphere surrounding each match - anyone who has experienced the agony of loosing a game or the joy of winning a game will know why we call this the beautiful game. Those who do not like football, just don't get it!

Because it's the most exciting sport on earth. It's the only sport which makes my heart beat faster for 4 weeks every 4 years. It's the only sport Millions of people in 100s (!!) of countries play and watch every week. It's an affordable sport that all ages can play. It's a sport where all players on the field get to move for 90 minutes, where people of all cultures can meet and discuss and cheer for THEIR team and country. I was in Trois Riviere, Quebec, today and there was a youth team from Quebec, playing as Arsenal (even though hardly anybody was able to speak English). Soccer transcends all borders and barriers, it's played by priests, monks, prisoners, catholics, muslims and jews, gays and straight people, males/females, young and old, rich, poor, white, yellow black. . NO OTHER sport does all this.

I grew up with it. I'm addicted to the action and thrill that comes from watching/playing a match. There's passion and skill. I mean, it's nickname says it all, The Beautiful Game. That's what it is.
Just thinking about the game gets my heart racing and it never fails to bring a smile to my face.

The "Beautifil Game" is a Portugese term for soccer based on how teams like Brazil play. For other teams for example the Italian team it is a Science, that is the term for the Italian game. It's technical and skillful

I love the beautiful game beacause it's so exciting to much.When ever i watch it im always at the edge of my chair cheering.It's also shows great teamwork skills and brings everyone together from each country.
