I got my IUD early April and no periods at all ever since. According to the info I was to expect spotting for several months and a decline in menstrual flow and maybe after a year, no periods at all. Just wondering if anyone else experienced zero periods after this IUD.

According to my knowldge, marina releases progesteron daily, so you have constant relatively high level of progesteron which prevents excessive bleeding, acoording to litrature, it takes 4 to 6 months for its peak effect. in many cases it is observed that zero period is achived cause of high progesteron level.

I got my Mirena IUD in April of 2005, and I have had spotting occasionally - although I don't recall exactly how soon afterwards the first "period" occurred. Typically, it's very light and I only notice it in the shower or if I happen to look at the toilet paper -- otherwise, it doesn't even stain my underwear or anything. A couple of times I've had something closer to a real period, where I'll use a "lite" tampon to protect my clothing and it lasts a little longer overall.
