I had a best friend. Then slowly she started doing her own thing and before I knew it we just weren't friends anymore. As far as I know there was no reason, we just stopped being friends. Yesterday I get a call from her and we arranged to have lunch tomorrow. Should I ask her what happened, or if I did anything to upset her at all? Or should I just leave it a mystery

Just have lunch with her. You guys just grew apart, it happens to everyone. If she didn't like you then she wouldn't have called you for lunch.

THERE IS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING, IF U HAD USPET HER SHE PROBALY WOULD HAVE NEVER CALLED U TO HAVE LUNCH. I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN, PEOPLE JUST GROW AND CHANGE. STRANGLY, I APPRECIATE HER MORE NOW THAN I DID THEN SO I'M GREATFULL FOR THE TIME AND DISTANCE. U MAY FIND UR SITUATION TO BE THE SAME. IT'S FUNNY THAT SHE WILL CALL ME AND ASK ADVICE AND STUFF AND THE PEOPLE THAT SHE WAS HANGING OUT WITH AFTER WE DRIFTED APART IS NOT WHO SHE TURNS TO NOW. ENJOY YOUR TIME, DONT BE ON THE DEFENSIVE, BE GREATFUL THAT YOUR LUCKY ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE THOUGHT ABOUT YOU AND REACHED OUT.

Well, since it bothers you so, you should ask her, in a gentle way of course. Probably nothing had ever happened but you two went your different ways, that's all. enjoy your lunch and have a great time. Catch up on time lost

Ask. You deserve an explanation.

Well, you could try to do it subtly. Like say: "I haven't been seeing much of you lately - what've you been up to?" But you should see how she behaves first.
