I bougt the truck from a friend. He had traded some work that he had done for the guy that owned the truck.

Also, you may want to check with your town or state. Some states do not require a physical title if the car is more than 10 years old; the owner may sign over ownership on the registration or maybe just on a paper saying that he sold (or gave) you the truck with his signature.

Apply for a lost title if your friend can't get the title from whoever he got the truck from. Have proof of sale.

whoever has the truck now needs to locate the original owner,get a bill of sale or a certified letter stating that you have the truck and have lost the tittle or that it was destroyed then once you get that go to DMV and they can help you with the rest !! good luck I went through the same thing a couple years ago
