It is a comission job and we have never known anyone who worked for them before. Does anyone here have any experience working with them and how hard was the sell? Scary not having a secured pay check! High Preasure?

A friend of mine worked for them.
It's a demanding job!! You work until late at night and sometimes only get Sundays off...sometimes not even Sundays. If you miss a day, you HAVE to make it up. It takes awhile to build your customers...and takes awhile to build trust with the current customers. Once you have the trust, the sales can be pretty easy. They told my friend not to expect decent sales for AT LEAST 6 months of employment. They can make some pretty good bonuses if they can keep their sales up.

My current Schwan's man says it's very demanding and he doesn't have a life. When he comes to my town, he has to spend 3 nights here---they load the truck enough for that long. I always buy from him now---but there was probably 4 months when he first started, that I didn't buy. They go through quite a bit of help and I get tired of all the new faces.

Schawn has a good but over priced product line. Yet a lot of folks prefer to have prepackaged and easy meals that do not taste too bad.
The down side to a job with Schawns is the massive hours one must put in to make a good living.
Our friend is a salesman /driver for them he averages around 80 hours a week .

I do, you have to work very long hours in order to make any good money. You also have to do some house to house selling in order to build up clientel. I don't like the idea of not actually having a steady income especially in our economy where people are now trying to get tight to compensate for the extremly high gas and housing prices.

Schwan's is still around? Is this mid-west? I'm originally from Michigan (now in NY). I can remember getting Schwan's deliveries when I was a kid. Good stuff. Our delivery guy always seemed happy/nice.

I think the product sells itself but I've heard you have to put in alot of hours to come out ahead.
