Fantasy Baseball Trade- Jason Giambi for Michael Young. Good or Bad?

Question

I am looking 4 a good Short Stop as my ss is Jimmy Rollins. I need Young. Here is my roster. Please evaluate it and see what i should do and who i should trade for. The only person i wont trade for sure is a-rod.

NVM because i just traded Kent AND Giambi for Jim Thome!

heres my question to you .. do you normally start Giambi over kent ? .. becuase you definetly should .. Giambi has some slumps .. but then he heats up .. and when he finds his swing he can REALLY hit .. i think he will find his power stroke again soon because the yanks really need it . and he will be hot ..
although you do need a ShortStop .. i think you should go for the higher average man .. and in the long run i think Renteria will be better for you .. you will also get a little bit more SB with him .. also if you wanted to you could trade power for power in a deal for Glaus .. The good thing in that trade is Glaus can play both SS and 3B for your team ..
also , just another idea for your team:
Your team could Really use some outfielders .. those OF's would be bench plaer in anyother fantasy league ..
I say you trade Chone Figgins for Grady Sizemore .. .. u'd be losing some SB .. but you'd be gaining on AVG. Runs HR and RBI .. Literatly every other stat but SB .. and this guy can steal bases too ..
if the team your trading to needs SB, he'll probably accepted it . otherwise you might need to throw in Luis Gonzalez , or a player along those lines .. if this guy isnt given him up go for Johnny Damon.

I would not make the trade. Your SS (Rollins) is not spectacular but is a solid player. Young is having a sub-par season. Giambi is having an excellent year (27 HR) and should be starting over Kent at 1B.

Giambi has had a pretty solid year so far. And Young has not been playing up to his potential. But I do believe that young will have a way better second half. Giambi is a safe bet too. SO the trade would be good for both clubs.

It's tough to make a decision without knowing what offensive categories are used in your league - specifically, do you guys still use old-fashioned batting average, or relevant stats like OBP and SLG?

If you still use BA, then it's a decent trade. If you use any of the others, then it becomes life real life, where Giambi is a far better and more valuable player than Young.

I wouldn't make this trade. You have a decent SS in Rollins. You don't have a closer and that is your most pressing need at this time.
