Amen to that! Seriously, why aren't they in jail? Anyway, to answer your question, they are the kind of hypocrites that don't think kids deserve the respect or protection normal people provide for them. Pretty disgusting isn't it? I say kill them all and save us the tax dollars (or in the case of the churches that hide them tithes and offering dollars) spent protecting their rights and on housing and feeding them.

Honest answer.
They are moved to investigate the alligations. They are not excomunicated until the alligations are justified. In the meanwhile, they are reassigned away from children.
Legally speaking, you can't fire them for suspicion of child molestation. They can turn around and sue the church who then has to prove that they hire pedifiles. I don't see the church doing that anytime soon.
What's more, the church becomes liable to the child's parents.
It is just poor strategy.
Plus there is a silent belief among priests in this country that sins of the flesh are more forgiveable than mortal sins. I know that is the most alarming fact i have to offer, but; I just tells em as I heards em.
I know priests on both sides of this type of situation and i can tell you that they do what they do at this point because they are told to and because they share a vow of obedience to the church. Some in fact have left, however, when they could no longer obey.
BTW, I know many a homosexual priest, does that automatically make them a pedifile? I know "not". What it makes them is a prime target for a pedifilia lawsuit. So how is a brother priest to know what the truth is in such a matter?
One more thing, if you do excomunicate a priest, not just deflock him, but actually kick him out, it is not like he can go out and find a similar job without changing his faith. And what does it say that other faiths have openly gay ministers and never seem to be sued for pedifilia? It seems that the Catholic church gets sued more often because it pays off more often and because it has a large bank account. If presbyterians had more money, they would get sued as well.

Due to the lack of men wanting to become priests the catholic church felt it would be best to just send them to another parish and not let anyone know about the prior offense..
Or simply watch South Park episode "Red Hot Catholic love"
You'll see that according to the show it goes all the way to the top...Hmmmm???? Maybe there is some truth to it even though it is a comedy show.

I agree, but they should not have been kicked out they should have been jailed.
Actually yesterday I was at Barnes and Noble and saw a dummy book for catholics or something. It actually tried defending this, saying most child molesters are family members are friends. Like this makes it ok for the priests to molest.
I guess those Dummy books are truly for dummies, I will never buy another one.

Two reasons, one is there is a serious shortage of priests and second, if one was outed, then the rest of them would come under suspicion and scare people away from the Catholic church.

I agree with you,,,,,,,, to cover up or ignore child molestation is a crime that should be punished in our courts, by a 25 year minimum sentence, (and castration, in my opinion), not the Catholic Church of Laws,,,,,,,,

The catholic church would rather ruin children's lives than admit that they are wrong about anything. So they look the other way. SICK!!
