Films from Bollywood are made in India and the majority of them follow the guidlines of woman trying to get away from forced marriage. The all have songs in them.
Films in Hollywood are every day films that are in western cinemas.
Generally more Bollywood films come out in each year than Hollywood films.

One of the major differences between Bollywood and Hollywood, I acknowledge, is that when it comes to romance, the latter tends to ignore familial and ethnic influences. Americans all live the same way and certainly fall in love the same way -- or they do on the big screen, at least. But movies like Bollywood/Hollywood, and the small-budget summer hit My Big, Fat Greek Wedding could lead to family elements being incorporated into mainstream movies more often.
I think that Hollywood, like any industry, really responds to what the numbers are. One day the box office numbers are an enormous amount can make them say, 'Oh my God, we're ignoring this genre.' I think they'll wake up.
There is both an aesthetic and cultural difference between the two modes of filmmaking. In Bollywood movies, the relationship to narrative and the moments of spectacle are different. If you think of Hollywood films as a short story, Bollywood films would be an epic.
Who here is talking that Bollywood is not believable. You want me to believe in Matrix, or Spiderman, or Lord of the rings, which is a complete grade 4 story. Except that there is a stick instead of ring. "Lord of the sticks", Ya the title might not have suited well that is why the ring was replaced. If bollywood is popular its no one's fault. Its the talent and skill of actors. May be people like watching some of hollywood's stories acted by bollywood actors just because they look better, act realisticly and sound real. Many of the action flicks taken in hollywood are tae kwondo, Hap ki do or Judo, now isn't this asian.
Certified go to a psychologist. Watch bollywood movies first. Its like saying exactly what android said. If bollywood movies are all about what u said then hollywood movies are same crap of a guy vs the whole world.
A.R Rehman is a genius. He is a legend. He has gotten national award too. I don't doubt his talent at all.
As far as airavata is concerned, man u call others illetrate. Please go and have a look at urself. U need a treatment really bad.
If there are any people that are born to Indian families who have went against their own culture, put one thing in ur head. Indians ur not, white u cannot be. So who ru?? where do u belong. U people really need to think that before u say anything else.

Bollywood are movies made in India for East Indian people to watch. Since there is a large market for movies made from India that's why the place where movie are made in that country is called Bollywood. Hollywood is Southern Calfornia where most of the movies watched in North America come from since the beginning of the last century.

There is a difference between Bollywood and Hollywood films besides the obvious. Bollywood films, regardless of the content, have singing in them. Even if it's Horror, there's at least one singing and dancing number. Plus, Bollywood tends to be a little more prudish with its sensual content unlike Hollywood. There's kissing and embracing, but very little sex and nudity.

Bollywood is all Indian films, from India. Hollywood is in California. I say Hooray for Hollywood....

Bollywood = dancing, four costume changes per minute, romance, more costume changes, weirder dancing, and then a finale with 75 or more costume changes.
Goes well with Chicken Tikka Masala.

I think Hollywood is american films and bollywood is like indian films...like from india...i dunno though
