I can't keep my eyeliner on more than a couple of hours without it starting to smudge or flake off. I have tried pencil, shadow (wet and dry) and liquid. Is there a secret to it? I work 12 hour days. I know that is a long time but anything more than 2 hours would be a help. Thanks.

Where are you putting it? It sounds like you're putting it on the inside of your lid. Just put it right on top of the lash line. I use Covergirl eye kohl. Works great and is water-resistant.

When you put your eyeliner on, blend it in with the tip of an eyeshadown brush or some pencils even have a blending tip on it. This not only gives your eyeliner a softer look, but it also keeps it from flaking and smudging. Another thing you might want to try is using your darker eyeshadows as a liner.

Try a differnt brand, personally Maybelline liquid waterproof [cheap and GREAT www.maybelline.com] or a higher priced such as MAC, Clinique, Chanel, Dior, Almay or Avon. You can ask the lady who works at the higher-priiced companies for something for you, maybe your skin is oily? How do you put it on? Message me for the answers or anything and I'll try and help more!

Liquid eyeliner works wonders but hurts like a son-of-a-gun but it'll stay on..

buy some good liner and put powder on before. also, put waterproof mascara on over it to lock in the dark effect you want in case the eyeliner wears off.

Use waterproof eyeliner. Make sure you put a little foundation and powder on before you use your eyeliner. And always use moisturizer.

Maybe the problem is that you are slightly allergic and your eyes water a bit. Try a few creamy hypoallergenic brands and see if that works better.
