Just look at Joe Strummer, Jim Morrison, etc. Why do they all have to be great and then do drugs? Oh I forgot, reportedly even Elvis did drugs and died in his bathroom. It sickens me.

it's a hard, stressful life. And the best musicians have the money to waste. It's a band-aid that becomes a tournequet, that finally kills. Riches really won't make you happy.

you're suitable once you employ the be conscious "some". and of direction it is delivered to our interest all the time because of the fact newscasters and the song international has little or no else to talk approximately. And it is the comparable as asking why have various newborn stars dedicated suicide whilst they have been given older. it is because of the fast existence they lead, the way of existence and expectancies (like they want you to be skinny immediately, fat the subsequent 365 days for a action picture, then skinny right here 365 days for some instruct), the medicine they get into (form and length of time, which includes alcohol), their money being misappropriated or stolen, expectancies for them to shuttle continuously and the unusual ego enhance they get and then whilst their song or drama slows down or ends they mentally zonk out. The olympic stars have been only speaking approximately that on television the day gone by, how they artwork strenuously for years, and for the 2 hundred days previous to the olympics, all the thrill, the 5 video games in step with day they are in, their triumphing and appearances, and thereafter the extensive letdown and melancholy (even deep melancholy in the event that they do no longer locate yet another gig promptly) that follows. too plenty melancholy ends up of their physique giving out, their want for suicide to get remote from the discomfort and expectaions, their loss of earnings or financial disaster, etc.

I think it just goes to show they were normal human beings with issues like the rest of us. Even these guys who had amazing talent and could have reached so much success weren't perfect and happy with life. With money came even easier access to drugs, and with all the sudden fame and pressures, they probably took it all a little too far.

I'm not saying it applies to all great artists and musicians, but I think the really great ones were probably some of the most troubled.

look at musicians like John Mellancamp(sp?), Elton John, Bruce Springsteen. . . They are still alive.

Stars that burn the brightest, burn the fastest! The true great ones see reality at a slightly different angle from us everyday chumps. Drugs are sometimes a vehicle to get there. Also with fame and fortune come the excesses.

Because you are looking at a particular type of music and consequently a particular culture. Did Bach? Did Beethoven? Did Mozart? Did Scott Joplin? Yet, all are long-lasting greats of non-rock genres...

Because they all feel unsatisfied with life, depressed, and all that unhappy stuff. so they turn to drugs as their temporary answer but takes an overdose and dies. it's not just rock stars--normal people do this too.

This is a bit beside the topic, but I was so sad when Kurt Cobain "commited suicide" (maybe he was murdered) because i am a huge Nirvana fan and it was just so sad.

Rolling Stones--all in their sixties. Paul McCartney? Fats Domino? And on and on? All young? All dead? All on drugs? Are these people bad musicians?

They have so much pressure of all the things that they got to do perfectly that they start just as a pick-me-up. But then they get hooked and can't stop and those who want to stop are to ashamed to get profesional help.
