You do not seem to realise that you are being pushed by your own 'being' very close to the most fundamental truth ! The advantage of recognising this is 'freedom' from the 'worry' (not the issue)... ! Instead we could enjoy the pursuit ! Well, it so happens, whichever way you look at it, the ONLY certainty in our LIFE seems to be DEATH. What ever happens in between is quite uncertain. Why not then first accept it as inevitable, and start preparing for this longest journey in right earnest, and ensure a really comfortable trip ! And be sure, this preparation does not interfere with any of our life's routine functions. Just maintaining the awareness about it (not thinking, brooding, or mind-clogging-confusing-muddle-of-thoughts).
Well if this doesn't seem to help, try looking at it with your logical mind (that is, if intuitive sense doesn't help), what is really death ? Is it not merely a 'word' used for conveniently referring to the 'absence' of life ? Like, cold is used to refer to less or absence of heat, and like 'darkness' used to refer to less or absence of light ? And if the 'you' decides to be with your 'life' in you, then where is the question of death for the 'YOU' ? May be a clinical death (as doctors call it) might happen to this gross body, as it does on a very TEMPORARY basis every day when you go to sleep (with the sense organs UNPLUGGED, and yet not available--- the battery of life removed and kept aside !), and back to life when you wake up (note that, by negation, this is the only logical answer to "why you wake-up/get-up after each sleep-session) !

With how the world is going, it is totally normal to ask these questions. We see death everywhere we look. I understand that you want them to go away. Instead of thinking 'what would it be like if I died?' think what would it be like if I lived? I kno it sounds weird. but try it. I also think that there is an underlying feeling here. did someone in ur family die recently? I can help you more if I knew more.

I am not sure how young or old you are. This could be happening because of the war and now learning more regarding Global warning. It all shows death or things related to death, that subconsciously maybe affecting you more than you realize. I would suggest praying to the Lord to guide you through this ordeal. He will be there for you. In the mean time talk with family and friends about this. I am sure they would be willing to help you through this.

i worried about this to ...ALOT! ... until my grandpa died. when he passed away, i knew that when i died, he would be there waiting for me when my time came and then the whole idea seemed much less scary. maybe you have someone in your life like this as well. also, realize the beauty in death - it is not always a bad thing - in a physical way, think of a beautiful autumn day, the trees garnished with crimson leaves - this is death at its greatest; those leaves are dying but in death, they the most beautiful. and people seem to forget all of the bad in death. so its really not so scary or such a bad thing to think about. if feel you cannot stop thinking of death, try to think of it in different forms - forms that maybe present things in a different light.

If you were driving down the road, and the warning light on the dash came on, and it wouldn't go away, would you just cut the wire to turn it off and keep driving? You know that if you did, it would be a very short time until disaster.

Every day, people of all ages die. This could be your warning.

Don't cut the wire to your warning light. Solve the problem.
The Bible states, "seek out your own salvation with fear and trembling".

SUCCESS!

I've been through that. It seems a lot of us do at some point in our lives, I suppose it's curiosity and natural worry.
How to stop it? Well, and this is serious, not a mickey take, it is your mind and you can control it. At the moment you seem to have a need to think about death and dying, ask yourself why? But I re-iterate, it is quite normal and when you're bored with thinking about it, or you find answers, then it will stop.

You are scared of it. To answer your question..What would happen if you died? Nothing, the world will go on. However, if you want something to happen when you die, then you should do some really big important stuff while you are here, so people will have a reason to remember you.

Death is the very first problem we acknowledged when beguining to think right. We cannot possibly avoid it, so people devised fairy tales to told you and others how you are going to live for ever, thanks to a entity nobody sees.
The death certainty produces in Man a real Tsunami on their ideas of self preservation, and you'll never get accustomed to it , as we all suffer of certain amount of paranoia just because of it.
People fights it with religion, drink, extreme sports, working hard, etc. And they can only pospone the acceptance.
Sorry, we are mortals.

I don't know where you live but it's difficult to escape the many images of war and death lately in the media. Some of this influence might cause depression and repeated thoughts of death and mortality.
