Tough question. I'm thinking some people just can't handle growing up as much as others. Some like the idea of being a kid for a long long time.

Maturity falls under many categories indeed. Your Pituitary Gland
decides how fast or slow your physical body grows. Hormone's of course also play into the matrix of events which lead from puberty to adulthood. It is inherent that some people never do
really grow up.So maturity really is a state of mind.

Has a lot to do with the way they were raised. If their parents gave them responsibilities as children / young adults, or waited on them hand and foot. If they had rules or could do whatever they want whenever they want.
