A lot of Americans love France and vice versa, but hateful people are always the loud ones. Although, I will say that my impression is the Americans for the most part were and still are mad about France for not siding with them on Foreign Policy (not only Iraq, but as far back as not allowing America to fly in their air space to go bomb Libya). Heck, France is a sovereign country. It also has a very intelligent president, how could he begin to communicate with our stupid and irrational monkey president?

Hello I am french, and I do not think we have so bad relations...
Stop believeing the medias. The mentalities in France are much more opened that what you seem to believe!
We appreciate foreign people and I think there are sometimes cultural misunderstandings.... but nothing really bad! :)

During and after WWII there was many political disasters in trying to persuade the French to back other nations in time of need. No one actually came out and said it, but many nations feel the French believe they are better then the rest of the world.

They don't. Certain idiots in the U.S. (hey Ryan!), and probably in France, too, engage in idiotic baiting of the other side - but in point of fact, there are plenty of cultural, political, and historical ties that remain strong today.

I think that both cultures believe themselves to be "superior" to all others, and the fact that they disagree on who that "best" culture is drives both countries nuts.
