mostly I think it is because your in less social groups. Generally in highschool and college you are involved with clubs, sports, science fair and you are forced to be around tons of people. It is easier to find friends in this environment. Try joining clubs like the Sierra Club or getting involved with politics or even getting back to your church. At this point in your life you have to invite people in more.

There were more opportunities. In school, there were tons of people you could be friends with. As you get older, you lose that opportunity...you get more into work where there are fewer people. Also, the older the people, the more judgemental they can be. If you are looking for more friends, try joining groups that have similar interests...

Because people are busy with there familys and work. And they only have so much time to themselves. When you get even older
then you are sick and can't do anything because of your health.

I guess because we are older and people our age are so busy with life...........job, kids, housekeeping, taking care of parents.......just lots of reasons. It is great to discover new friends when we get older.
