It's unhealthy to hold your emotions in. You have to let them out........it's the only way to start working through the issue at hand.

Because we try to control our emotions at that certain moment we hear emotional news. We react in very different ways once we process the information.

alot of people hold back tears because we think that tears are a sign of weakness that we are little cry babies. we do not want to show defeat.

because the "normal" people in society aren't supposed to have emotions at all. those of us that have any feelings whatsoever are frowned upon if we show it, because emotion in most parts of society is considered a weakness

Because people allow things to build up. When one thing occurs most people try to push it away and not let it bother them, but eventually things add up and it just keeps building up until they release all that emotion.

We don't want to show weakness so we hide a lot of weak emotions (sadness, fear etc) from others until we are alone.
