Lawyer

A real man, is what is important. A man who believes it is 'his' responsibility to take care of her and to support her. Yes this sounds old fashioned but men are becoming more and more selfish as time continues. So not a lawyer, just a real man.
Not an elitist, an academic, or a wealthy man - just a responsible, kind, morally uncompromising sort who 'cherishes' the woman he calls his wife. A gentle sort who would never degrade her. A respectful sort who loves that she is a woman and his mate. A doctor, a plumber, a dentist, a baker. Who is generous, loving, and who is good - that is what matters.

The man that loves her for who she is and adores her the most regardless of what he does. I mean money does matter (but u dont need a lawyers/drs income to be happy coz money is temporary happiness) so ultimately if he can provide a roof on head, feed the kids and be a good father thats all that should matter!

well, there is a lot of argument about both...of doctor and lawyer, i would have to pick lawyer...doctors are exposed to too many illnesses and diseases, they can be gone very long hours, called in the middle of the night, sued for malpractice (regardless), and they can be just as full of sh*t as the lawyer...
however, i would rather my daughter marry someone who has ethics, makes money, loves her and will share in her happiness...whatever that would be...

I would prefer that she marry her equal. Not someone already established and divorced, as she's just finishing school. Someone more equal would start them on equal ground. However, love conquers all. Nonetheless, if she says she loves a Doctor, Lawyer, etc. I would like her to be certain that she is in love with him and not his prestige, title, or lifestyle. Then, I'll give my blessing.

Not a lawyer. Or least not unless she was as equally versed in the law herself and how to protect herself. Maybe a physician. How about just somebody she loved.

I would prefer her to marry someone that she love and treated her the way she should be treated, a great job is just a bonus.

the old saying is that it's just as easy to marry a rich man as a poor one but I believe that one should marry someone whom they are compatible and whom which they love. Therefore, ocuppation should not matter. In the end it is not how much money your husband makes but how he treats you and what kind of relationship you have.
And, I would hope that the women could support herself with the career of her choice anyway.
