Take a tea bag, dip it in hot water, as hot as you can stand, and place it on the abcess. The heat will bring the infection to the surface and the tannic acid in the tea will combat further infection. You will have to do this more than once. Change the tea bag often. Don't use herbal tea, use ordinary black tea. Organic is better since it will have fewer contaminants.

Yes it is all connected. I had a similar experience a while ago. I felt like I need the doctor or hospital, but the dentist is by far the best person to see as he specialises in these things. Mine said that when it is really bad it can go up to your sinuses. I had pains right up through my eyes. He will probably give you antibiotics. I had a few courses of antis but they didn't work and I just had the tooth out (oh, the relief!), but fingers crossed, they will work for you. Please go tomorrow and if you can't get in, demand to see an emergency dentist. If you leave it, the infection can spread further and will be excruciating ((I sympathise because I have been through it). I saw an emergency dentist who was fantastic. I persuaded him to put me on his books (he was full up) and he's the best dentist ever. I have so many problems with my teeth, but a good dentist makes all the difference. In the meantime take max strength Ibuprofen. I have taken very strong tablets in huge doses (including morphine) to try and relieve the pain, but the best by far for this is Max Strength over-the-counter Ibuprofen. Good luck xx

You need antibiotics. You can become septic if not treated and end up in hospital. Don't be a fool go to your DR.
If it is a dental Abscess then you MUST get antibiotics as you can end up with cardiac problems if left untreated.
Go to a hospital’s Emergency Department if any of these conditions occur with an abscess:
Fever of 102°F or higher, especially if you have a chronic disease or are on steroids, chemotherapy, or dialysis
A red streak leading away from the sore or with tender lymph nodes (lumps) in an area anywhere between the abscess and your chest area (for example, an abscess on your leg can cause swollen lymph nodes in your groin area)
Any facial abscess larger than 1 cm or a half-inch across

Boil water, put in the teabag, remove from boiling water, let it sit until it is still hot but you are able to set it on your abcess. Let it sit on abcess until it cools down. Repeat if necessary, using a new teabag each time. Something in the teabag brings the infection and puss to the surface. You still must pop to drain, or it will pop on its own. Good luck.

when my mom got stung be a wasp we called the er for advice and they told us to get it wet with luke warm water and leave it on for like 20 min or so. If it dosent seem to be doing anything go to the dr right away depending on whats going on and what your draining. It could be deeper than just the outer layers of skin adn may need to be looked at.

Teabags are used because of the tannin content in the tea, Use black tea more than green. You can also use a root of the plant called "Gold Thread" for mouth uncers, (just chew it a lot, even if it is quite bitter, it helps all mouth ulcers)
For ulcers on the body, use the fresh gel from an "aloe vera" plant. (use the plant itself and not a bottled extract)
You can use a salve made from the petals of the "calendula".
For skin ulcers, use a leaf from the "mullein" plant or the "boneset" plant.
For facial skin ulcers (or severe acne) use the "Burdock" plant.
