Well that would like pages to type so let me just tell you what I am looking for in my next president and then you can compare to what some republicans say.

Btw, I am a democrat.

1. Re-implement Clinton's PAY AS YOU GO system in order to balance the budget, get rid of the deficits, and get the economy booming for the lower classes also.
2. Either get us out of Iraq or get some more countries in there to help us.
3. Undo all this de-regulation that the republican party has been doing that is skyrocketing cost of living.
4. Increase the minimum wage to 6.15. When you increase the pay of the poor, every cent goes back into the ecomony.
5. Universal healthcare
6. Undo the unconstitutional Faith-based intiatives and put those funds back into social security and medicare.
7. Either reverse Nafta or do as Perot suggested and amend it stating any country we have free trade with must enforce it's minimum wage laws.
8. Bring back incentives for corporations to stay within the states or impose penalties for outsourcing.

Not a big difference. The Dems are pretty up front about the fact that they want a bigger government, in other words, they are money grubbers for their own pet projects. The Republicans say they are for smaller government, but always seem to make it bigger, usually by accident. The Dems whine all the time, saying "You promised us a drug free America, and so where are our free drugs?" The Reps always run on a platform that says that government doesn't work, then they get elected and prove it. Et cetera....

BTW, BeachBum's proposals are pretty ridiculous.

Especially about the minimum wage. Although I suppose she's right. That money would go back into the beer, pot, and porn sectors of the economy...

Not a whole lot of difference.

The American people are the screwed up child of a messy divorce, the subject of a custody battle.

The Republican Party is the Daddy Party. His favorite pasttime is beatin the livin' crap out of things that offend him until they cry.

The Democrat Party is the Mommy Party. Her job is to max out all the credit cards until everyone just shuts up and gets along.

Both the Mommy Party and the Daddy Party are trying to woo the poor kid back into their arms, but the psychological damage they've done to the kid is so severe that she or he just picks someone based on who he or she is least sick of at a given moment.

Read "The Little Red Hen".

The Hen is the Republican.

The Democrats are all the other animals.

Also, "The Grasshopper and the Ant"

The Ant is the Republican.

Notice, it is the Republican who works.

They are tag teaming the United States and spending us into a hole. They are both working the same playbook. Each team has its turn at bat. We need to ditch both of them if America wants to keep any jobs here and not import workers to take them.

Conservatives want to be your daddy, telling you what to do and what not to do. Liberals want to be your mommy, feeding you, tucking you in, and wiping your nose. Libertarians want to treat you as an adult. Where do you fit in? Find out at http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html - It's not just a matter of "left" and "right."
