How can I remove the nut when it is almost perfectly round? It is difficult to get at and I have already used wd-40. Is there maybe a tool that mechanics use to remove stripped nuts?

Yes it is called a nut breaker. It slips over the nut, you tighten a screw on the tool and it pushes a wedge into the side of the nut. Tighten it until the nut breaks off.

If completely stumped, you can take a socket or ring-spanner that is one size smaller than the size of the nut and hammer it onto the nut. Be very careful where iron filings and bits of steel end up if you don't want to do damage to the engine etc. Good luck.
There is a tool called an "E-Z OUT" but will do more damage if not used correctly.

That means you're cutting the circulation off to your nut. I'd recommend wearing boxers for a while instead of tight briefs. Hope that helps! Take care of the jewels, man.

Try a chisel and a hammer to try to loosen it and then maybe turn it or get a pairof vice grips on it, of course you can chisel the nut off.

Striped nut? too much info, too personal.

Stripped nut? recommend using a locking wrench (vise grips); do a google search if you're not sure what they look like.

Go to Sears. They have sockets to remove striped nuts. Don't just cut it.
