Yes, I had it with all three of my pregnancies. It usually will end about the 3rd month (actually the end of the third month, so closer to the 4th month), but a very small percentage of women have it through the pregnancy - I believe it's because their body just doesn't like the pregnancy hormone. Mine was quite severe and for my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy, I was actually hospitalized (the second time for 5 days) to get IV fluids. Man, there's nothing like that first day when it's over...and it does come ;) Good luck!

Don't want to scare you but yes I had it...and it lasted well into my 5th month. It went on 24/7...not fun! had to go to the hospital and have fluids put in me by way of IV. There is some hope though. The do have some meds that will relieve the symptoms so you can keep food down. Talk to your DR. about tht alternative. You can also try keeping saltine crackers on the night stand and before you even get up ....reach over and eat a few. Peppermint candy also works well. Stay away from spicey or strong smelling foods, and keep yourself hydrated. Even small spoonfulls of liquid is better than none at all. Small amounts of carbonated beverages also help. It will get better.....and it won't go on forever...although it my feel like it. Good luck!

I've taken care of women in the hospital with hyperemesis...its a stressful experience for the patient. Some tricks for cutting nausea include putting ice packs on the back of the patients neck, limiting intake of fluid until after you have a small meal, cold food is easier to tolerate and keeping the environment cool, calm and dark.
