WO! Slow down there cowboy!
I do not like rap.
Especially all the phony gangsta stuff & all the things you mention.
But keep that racist stuff to yourself OK!
I like old school rock, much of which was based upon blues, R & B & many other types of music from people of color. (ewww - is that politically correct? who cares?)
That's what I love about old school rock - it takes a little from here & a little from there & mixes it all up. Race isn't important.
Metal? some of it is OK. Much is just angry white guys yelling about something or other. It is the white boy version of gangsta rap in my opinion.
What it all boils down to is - To each their own! Wouldn't it be a boring world if we were all the same?!
Grow up & stop being a racist

Well, it depends on what rap you listen to. Some people use it just to get money and influence the minds of young people into doing stupid things. Some use it to really express themselves. Before you go insulting people's art I suggest you listen to the music thoroughly, instead of just the stuff on the radio. So I have to say I disagree with you, and there's no need to be a racist. I don't know why people are racist, but it has to be because you have problems of your own. The only reason people have different skin colors is because of the climates we used to live in, and if you think, you would know that. Being racist is pointless, and is one of the biggest problems we have in this world. Instead of wasting your time insulting people, do something worthwhile with your time, other than hate. Personally, I think rock & metal is just a whole bunch of crazy stupid people jumping around yelling stupid obscenities, with weird make-up, and no, I don't think it's real talent.... but I guess it's because I never got into that type of music. Open your heart and mind, be a smarter person, because by this question, you're not representing yourself very well. Bless you....

Depends...I personally believe most of the rap from the past two years is not very good, I find the beats and repetitive lyrics about money and partying and drinking and smoking a little old, but I like some of the slightly older stuff (Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Outkast, Tupac, etc) and find it to be a little more interesting and creative.

i like SOME of the old school stuff, but I think most of it is talentless( i am not trying to offend,my opinion) and the same thing over and over. I hear so much of it and it is all the same, everyother word is f this are talking about f-ing some chick, or shooting someone. It is old people! Now I'm not down with the N word or anything I just loathe rap music!

I like rap music! I'm a musician and I find rapp music very innovative. I like how they can take an old song and turn it into something funky and blend attitude and grit.!! African Americans have been huge contribute-rs to about every form of music there is. Heavy metal guitar got a huge push from Jimi Hendrix who displayed that you could do more with a guitar then just play chords and a Lil twanging! about every huge metal guitarist outhere can contribute Hendrix, Leadbelly, Muddy Waters to there sound. and alot of heart music created country and blues. the bling, the teeth, does seem a little crazy. that's ghetto fab!!

Using the "n" word (and mis-spelling it, at that) is not called for.
While I do not particularly enjoy most rap music, I have great appreciation for the work that goes into it. These artists, men and women both, work very hard at "dropping bomb flows" (making well-crafted rhymes).
Rap artists are as hard-working as any other musician. If you doubt it, post another question directed at -knowledgable- musicians, asking them their opinions as to what rap is, and is it true music or not.
Besides, who are you to talk? You can't manage to spell or use correct punctuation.

that's not all rap is about. but you are a racist, you will believe what you want to believe. and what is metal other than a bunch of banging and clashing. how do you listen to that without getting a headache? you're allowed to have your own opinion, but that doesn't mean you have to be ignorant in the process. screaming vs. rapping... your choice.
