i've only heard clilps of things from other people, that israel is bombing the crap out of lebanon. what is going on?

Israel is being a terrorist. The a bombing people and no one is doing anything to stop them. But the Arab league is coming to help their brothers and sisters
Lebanon is defending themselves. So are the Palestinians. Who are next

These terrorists/guerrillas from Lebanon bombed Israel on Monday. They are called Hezbollah.
The Lebanese are Muslims (Islam) and the Israelis are Jewish.
On Wednesday the Lebanese took 2 Israeli soldiers hostage. Now the Israelis are pissed. And they are hitting the terrorists back hard. However, these terrorists are not Representative of the Lebanese government, but they are a powerful and influential group. Like Al Queda. The prime minister from Lebanon doesn't want trouble with Israel. But the prime minister of Lebanon has no influence over the terroists. He is basically helpless.
This is a very specific group in Lebanon. But the Israeli have a very powerful army. They are being criticized for being so ruthless, as their retaliation is seen as being "not proportional", but overkill. But they are trying to send a message. Syria and another country (Iran), may have to help Lebanon fight against Israel. The USA and much of the Western World (ie. UK and Canada) are justifying Israel's strategy, and that Israel has the right to protect itself. Do we really think Bush would let anybody get away with bombing a part of the US, without some serious repercussions. And that my dear is what is going on in the middle east.

The same **** has been going on in the middle east for years. Now we have CNN, and the internet and we have to hear about it. Don't worry the fighting will stop for a while and then pick up again.
