Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor.

I believe Humans evolved from apes. I find it hard to understand why intelligent people choose to believe a load of contradictory and impossible things that were written down by religious leaders thousands of years ago with their own agendas over a theory that is based on the latest scientific knowledge, and that there is plenty of corroboratory evidence for.
If you think about it, 99% of the other beliefs that were around at the time the bible was written are now largely derided as being primative superstition eg the earth being flat, you can understand why this was thought but we now know it not to be true. Why is the bible still taken as being correct when all of these other things are no longer believed? ask yourself how you came to believe in it, most likely because your parents taught you to, and their parents before them and so on. In any other field I'm sure that you would take modern ideas over ones from 2000 years ago, so why not this issue? or next time u go to the doctor will you be asking for them to strap leeches to you?'
Of course there is no guarantee that our current scientific theories on evolution are correct either, just I think that they are likely to be a lot closer to the mark than the bible.
I do believe that there is a place for religion however, as it helps a lot of people deal with their lives, although I don't believe a word of it.

I can't believe that Man in all his arrogance would admit to evolving from a lower form of life. There is no way I evolved from a monkey or a fish or anything else. I was always a man.

Actually, humans eveloved from an animal probably related to primates but not monkeys. The animal we evolved from doesn't exist anymore. This is where survival of the fittest comes into play. The strongest and smartest of this breed continued to live and the other animals died.

If you are really seeking answers, evolution is given a thorough going over in D. James Kennedy's, "Why I Believe." For what it's worth, legitimate scientists and archaeologists are finding of late that the Bible has considerable merit, and has yet to be disproven on even the smallest matter.

Actually, humans and monkeys share a genetic ancestor somewhere back in the dawn of time. By phrasing the question the way you did there is no correct answer, only an implied insult.

We evolved from a common ancestors that we share with other primates.

Think about it this way. You have a cousin (how distant doesn't matter). You did not evolve from your cousin. Rather, you and your cousin came from a common ancestor. In this case, it would be a grandparent (or further).

I believe the same logic can apply with humans and other primates. Of course, it would be more distant.
