I had a fight with my fax machine and got black ink on white burbur (about 1 ft long X 3" wide). As long as you do not let it dry you should be ok with vinegar. Dump and blot over and over until it is gone. May take a good hour or so, but it comes out. Best if you have a (Dirt Devil) spot scrubber or similar wet vac. Just dump the vinegar and suck it up immediately -do not scrub! Do not let it soak into the carpet. As it sits on the top of the carpeting you can see the color lift and grab it with the wet vac!

If the carpet is very white, you can bleach it! Oxy clean or a type of carpet cleaning agent like resolve should help. The best thing to do is try to get it before it sets! Good Luck!

Oxyclean would be good to try first. But if it is a very white carpet, you can just you bleach. Try it on a hidden place first (like in the closet), to make sure it doesnt make the spot whiter than the rest of your carpet.

Try a mixture of white vinegar and wool mix.. when we had our carpet put in the carpet guy told us not to bother with commercial carpet cleaners, as this worked just as well and was MUCH cheaper!

use veniger, baking soda, and water
or
bleach
or
if it is synthetic non plstic bace or non-synthetic (ex. cotton or polyester [non painted types and no nylon]) and you dont care much about the floor underneath if it is stained there is a chem called goof-off it will take most anyhing out.
or
if this doesnt work get a dry erase marker (especially if it is sharpy) and write on the spot, proceed to scrub afterward (the chems in the dry erace will generally disolve any non toxic prmanent marker) ****i have not tried this on carpet but it has worked on other stuff****

Bleach sprayed from a spray bottle (1/2 and 1/2 with water) will work and it's relatively cheap too. Most other things will give you too much hassle too.

hairspray, let it sit in for atleast 20 min. continue spray then after that take a DAMP cloth and lighty rub at the stain...its not fool proof, but shoudl work fine :)

Also if it doesn't work try baby powder, then put some soap on too, then take the damp cloth and rub it in. :)
