If car companies started selling classic cars the way they looked back in the 30',40's,50's - do you think they would sell well? would you buy one?

I would totally buy one. todays cars are soooo ugly and void of any personality. they are reselling some of the classic cars but they dont look exactly the same, and they dont look as good as the original versions.

Actually it's already being done and more than what the new car manufacturers are doing,as you can buy a replica of some popular older cars with a fiberglass body and modern day drive train pieces that way you get the look of the older styles and the reliability of modern power, brakes and electronics.Just pick up a copy of any kit car type magazine and you will be amazed as to what's out there these days. And yes I would buy one if I wanted to go in that direction.

To an extent, this is already happening. Chrysler has definitely put out some designs that have a certain 30's look to them. The PT Cruiser and the Ram trucks, for example. The Audi TT looks a little retro, too.
I'm afraid the car industry is flat out of new ideas, and is starting to repeat itself. So, to answer your question, yes, they'd sell. And yes, I might buy one.

They do it already - PT cruiser, VW New Beetle, Chevy, etc.
I don't think they will be able to sell exact copies though - they had poor aerodynamic and only older generation would be interested in those cars. Although I think limited numbers would sell well.

One look at the new Mustang and this question just got answered. Some companies are doing it right, some are screwing it up. I think Chrysler started it all with the Prowler.

no cause the saftey features and options are to old and the only reason that classic cars are valued is cause of their age most cars are all plastic now days and not metal the price of metal is absolutley rediculous
