On the search for what the Americans have to say about Italians!

I've lived in Italy for a year or so, and I have to disagree with many of the posts. Italian-Americans have great food and are very warm and welcoming, but I have found Italians themselves to be far colder. When I first moved to Italy, I was treated terribly. When they got used to me, I was treated somewhat better. Of course, that's a generalization. I had a few Italians treat me nicely, but I found it was only in the town I lived in. If I traveled anywhere else, I was treated (and rightly so, I suppose) as a foreigner. The food is not at all like Italian-American food. Italians make great pizza, and some of their pasta dishes are great because of certain cheeses and other ingredients that no one seems to use in America, but other than that, I wouldn't say it's anything special. That's not to say I hate Italians or their food. I just find many of the stereotypes concerning Italians to be false.

We are a Military family, are we're stationed in Italy. I think the Italians are wonderful! We were living on base when we first moved here two years ago, but we decided we wanted to be around the Italian culture more, so in October we moved off and we are not renting a beautiful house, and our landlords are so good to us. Italians are just warm, loving people. I especially love how much they adore and respect children. We can't take our kids out in public without an Italian patting them on the head or kissing their cheek.
The only thing that drives me crazy, is the way they drive over here! I lived in Italy for several months before I would drive off base. I made my husband do all the driving! But now I have learned how to be an aggressive driver, and I do fine! And though Italian homes are the cleanest I've ever seen, the trash on the sides of the roads are nasty. (Of course I live in Naples, and it's dirtier then other parts of Italy.) The culture is great, and the history is incredible. Rome was great! There is just so much to see and do here!
We will be here for a few more years, and part of me will be sad when we leave.

in my opinion i'd have extremely loved the click a making a hoo-hah if the semis became out to be Germany v Italy; and England v France. international warfare 2-tastic. yet, convinced, I have realised that which couldn't the case. IItaly thrashed Germany purely some months in the past 4-one million, even if that is impressive how a crew can replace even as they have momentum. regrettably for Germany, Italy's momentum hasn't stopped, their defence is impressive, and they are noticeably sturdy at sitting lower back and absorbing Germany's inevitably multiple assaults and nicking one objective. Italy's present day facet is able to scoring more suitable than in basic terms the only which they always used to win by skill of as well. Ukraine were garbage antagonistic to Italy, yet for a 5-minute era they gave the effect of they could come lower back into the game with an equaliser. Then Italy scored. two times in 10 minutes. Plus this 'success' the Italians were getting, has it got here about to you that they *somewhat* deserve it? lost the 'ninety semis and the 'ninety 4 very last on consequences, lost in staggering circumstances lower back South Korea very last time, went out of the european Championships 2 years in the past using main spectacularly precise score required to resign them from qualifying... heavily, they deserve their success, and their (hopeful) victory.

very honest opinion ...italians are very hard working people and they like the best of everything.....the are religious, giving people with big hearts but also very selfish people and that sounds strange. the men as lovers are very, very rough and nothing gentle about them.......no matter where they are Italy and Italians come first ......let me give you an example: It was Canada Day on July 1st and we were celebrating canada's birthday with a parade and a carnival but it was also the time the Italian were playing the soccer game and there was 8 cars of Italians, flying the big Italian flag weaving in and out of the parade, blowing horns and screaning viva italia.....that was selfish and greedy as that was canada day and there was no respect for canada. that is why sometimes italians are disliked and with reason

Italy has been on strike ever since WWII. An Italian will steal any chance he gets, stealing money from his own pocket if necessary and almost never catching himself doing it. Women are pretty until they have their first kid and they are over-much concerned with the over-ripe tomato. Still, they are probably better than me.

I don't know, I've never been to Italy, but from what I heard, the guys are self-centered and the women are either big or so skinny they make the rest of us become anorexic
