It didn't affect me particularly. The movies are always a little simplistic for my taste, but they're wel done. I recommend the Brian Greene book of the same name over the series.

It reminds me of how I became disillusioned as a graduate student of astronomy. My thinking then and now goes something like this:

This is so contrived! These guys are not unlocking the secrets of the universe at all! Even if this all holds together and explains observations and makes correct predictions, there is no reason to believe any of it is really true. It is messy and contrived, the exact opposite of elegant.

The movie affected me so deeply that it is the only thing i can think about when I'm laying in bed at night. It has really made me ponder the universe and physics in general, i really like it when something like this makes me think this much. great exercise for my brain. eventually I may even be able to fully understand it. The more I think i understand it the more questions I have.

I find it amazing that someone can even figure these stuff up. It tells me not to trust just our senses. Some stuff are beyond our senses. Maybe some stuff are too abstract for us to comprehend no matter how hard we try. Like teaching calculus to a chimpanzee. It's beyond their ability no matter how smart a chimp is. I think we have our limits too.

Loved it!!! It rekindled a passion I've always had for math and science.

11 dimensions... perhaps some where gravity has a stonger influence. Very intresting!!

It seemed to be all fluff and no content. Fortunately, that didn't stop me from reading the book, and it was very good.
