No you don't turn the AC sideways. You will have to install a baseboard to the side of the AC where the window pane is to support the weight of the AC. I would suggest simply finding a window that opens normally first, but if you must, just frame it with the baseboard, and seal around the ac with foam.

You put it in the same way, but you will need to cover the upper part of the window well so that no air from outside gets in. You can use like a piece of plywood or something

The type of window A/C unit that you need is called a casement style. They are more expensive than the regular models and are harder to locate. Oftentimes, they must be special ordered. Any large lumber/hardware dealeer should be able to help you with this. Good luck.

You must remove one side of the window and put Plexiglas or wood or something in the space where the a/c isn't.

Yes there are a/c units manufactured that fit that type windows. I have worked on them before. Call you local dealer or go to Lowe's
