why does my dial up connection box keep poping up on the screen when i cancel it

one of two problems
1. Its set up for automatic dialling - in this case right click on the isp icon and select properties. Desect automatic start.
2. You could have a virus on your system
Another wat to stop this is to run msconfig and deselect your modem from eithe rthe Service tab or the Start tabs but this will mean that you'll have to run msconfig everytime you want to connect to the internet and that would be a real pain.

because some other application keep trying to make a connection - it may be some spyware
