Elton Brand is a power forward.
Yoa Ming avg. 24.6 points and 10.9 rebs. last season. The best numbers among centers last season.

Amare is a beast. He's one of my favorites in the league, but I don't count him as a center.

Houston fans no way YAO is better than Tim Duncan or Shaq.

EVERYBODY, DO NOT DISS YAO MING!! he is the best center in the league, above an older and not-as-dominant Shaq. Don't get me wrong, Shaq is still a great center, but his flaws were exposed in the NBA finals(Hack-a-Shaq, low scoring, fouls, limited minutes) whereas Yao Ming averaged 24.4points, 10.2 rebounds, and an excellent above 80% free throw shooting. He should be #1 on your list- no question about it. O YEAH, IT'S YAO not YOA.

Top 5 Centers, i need a center list but i would say
1. Tim Duncan (just because more versatile and more years left than Shaq)
2. Shaquille Oneal
3. Yao Ming (so much potential still, needs to get more agressive)
4. Ben Wallace( you have to give Defensive players some credit and he is one of the best in the game)
5. Zydrunas Iglauskas (although i think he needs to do more in cleveland, he is a good center though)
HONORABLE MENTION
Marcus Camby, Brad Miller
IF you consider Howard a center, then he can bump Iglauskas off at 5.

Yao Ming is the most over-rated player in the NBA. He is slow, can't jump and is just too nice to rebound. Ben wallace instead of Yao. Elton Brand instead of Ilgauskas. Look at Brands stats - 25 points i think he averaged last year.
If I can't have brand as a center then you can't have Tim Duncan as a center. I didn't say that Yao Ming isn't a good center I just think that he is very overrated - you never see Yao Ming dominating a game like shaq does. Also Yao can't defend like big Ben. Ben Wallace can defend against the biggest centers and can also defend against people like A.I. Not many centers could defend against A.I. or Lebron but Wallace can. I forgot about Amare Stoudamire he is probably the best when he is not injured.

1. Amare Stoudimire (IF he's the same since I last saw him.)
2. Tim Duncan (If he does play center now...)
3. Dwight Howard (Athletic freak who still has a LOT of room to improve.)
4. Shaquille O'Neal (Next season will further test his durability...)
5. Ben Wallace (Defensive player of the year four of five years. Usually top ten in all three major defensive statistical categories. Can guard anyone from Shaq to LeBron... Just couldn't score to save his life.)
