well i am taking this class (access) and i feel really dumb asking....i created a file , and when i try to open it i get a warning....something about this file contains a code that was ment to harm your computer..something about macro viruses??? any one know why i am getting this??? is it safe to open or what?

Yes, it's safe if you created it. That enables the macro.

Your Access file is running a "macro". That is a small program building into the database. Because there were some viruses a while back that were spread by Word, Excel and Access macros, Office added a warning to that programs that lets you know it is about the run a macro and ask permission first. If it is a database you wrote, it should be safe to open. (That is unless your writing viruses to infect yourself - LOL.)

It's simply a warning that Access files can contain code that could harm your machine. It doesn't mean that they do contain code, just that they can. If you trust the file source, then don't worry.

Yes its safe to open it. If you look at the help files, it will tell you to download a program from from Microsoft that will stop this message from appearing.

Stay away from MS Access, a code can destroy your computer and then you don't have a computer to place questions.
