i thought it would be really fun to be a jr high teacher. but my problem is they dont get paid near as much as id like. my teacher said the district starts at 28-29 thousand a year. and my dad was a teacher, but my mom was tellin me that the last week of the month they had very limited food. and id like to be a band teacher, but that is even worse. id have to have all instruments for my personal use, id have to learn how to play every instrument, and it would be a lot of work. but i really want to be a teacher and help the kids and stuff. what do you think? is there areas that pay more, or is there another career that would pay more but i could still do somethin similar, or should i just stick with teaching? thanks!

Try working for the Department of Defense School system. Good salary, good benefits, and you get to live overseas in free housing.

If teaching is what you want to do, stay with it.

Teaching is more of a calling, than any other career, if it's what you really want to do, go for it. You will find ways to compensate for the lower pay.
