WHY DO THEY EAT PLASTIC TOMATOES

It is not that they want to, it is that is what they have access to. Hence the organic craze - we are trying to get real food and they are charging us double for it.

Peace!

PS - there are lots of free thinking, well educated people who can see with their own eyes that these chemicals are not healthy for us and as the number of autistic kids (and others) who are slowly being poisoned by this perverse "better living through chemicals" thinking is growing, it proves that there is indeed something seriously wrong and the FDA needs a good looking into.

Where did you get an idea like that? It's producers that use hormones to increase yield. Consumers aren't asking for it and the vast majority are probably not aware that it is sometimes done.

And plastic tomatoes aren't as messy as real ones and they don't rot if you leave them on the table for a couple days.

lol.. Our agricultural industry uses these meathods to increase food production and lower costs. There are alot of people over here and most of us eat pretty well. This is part of the reason.

Side affects are rare because of all the testing done (thats what the FDA is for). Those that think otherwise are usually very religious or are mindless tree hugging hippes. The evidence that these substances are harmful is minimal at best. Welcome to the real world.

Yeah sure, we all insist on it. WE DEMAND IT!

Growth hormones are used because they are effective, efficient, and safe.

Agriculture is inherently unnatural - it's all about using the features of nature to benefit humanity. We're just using our heads to do it the best we can.

I don't INSIST on eating hormone boosted foods, I just grew up on them and when I see the organic foods and now CLOTHING I scoff. I mean seriously, I grew up on REGULAR (as I like to call it) food and I am doing JUST FINE. Also, unless they are going to MAKE organic cost the SAME as regular foods then it isn't worth it! They DO NOT taste any different.

The Wal-Mart I work at once had baby carrots (organic) cheaper then the regular ones so I bought a bag of each AND GUESS WHAT?????

THEY TASTE THE ABSOLUTE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for the comparable reason all Brits drink tea like it is their activity... Oh wait, no longer all people does. on an identical time as burgers are usual, human beings have distinctive tastes. Burgers are a factor of our lifestyle yet human beings do no longer continuously consume them.

It's what we are given by the greedy corporations that were borne of blind capitalism. They tried to hide it for years and years. Many have tried to go organic.

What plastic tomatoes? Please add detail.

Because:

1. they last longer (don't spoil)
2. organic products can be much more expensive
3. that's mostly what is available

if there were more natural foods available I for one would eat more of them.
