I wash my hair everyday and after I wash it I notice it has a odor to it. I've been switching new shampoos without success. It's really getting on my nerves and I'm nervous about getting close to my boyfriend because of it. Any suggestions?

Before you go to the doctor, check a few things.

1. Do your shampoos have a heavy perfumy smell? Sometimes the chemcials in shampoo can have an adverse effect with body chemitry.

2. Do you have hard water? Or perhaps bad water. You may want to buy a cheap water test kit at Home Depot or such and check it.

3. Are you rinsing well enough? Obviously if #2 is the issue, rinsing won't help, but it might be the issue if you have long or very thick hair.

4. If those three aren't it, consider seeing your doctor. It could be something in your diet (i.e. garlic, onions, etc) or something else entirely.

You can also try eliminating the odor. There's this stuff called Approach. You can get it online at www.approachit.net and it's safe to use on your body so you can spray your hair or even pour it in your hair to eliminate the odor.

Good luck!

I would suggest you go see a doctor so he/she can do some tests & they might be able to give you something to help the condition to try stop it from smelling. Does the water have an odor, like sulfur in it? Some areas of the country the water isn't too great - smells rotten. If that's the case, see about a water conditioner being installed.
