I've heard that you shouldn't register your number with the Do-Not-Call registry. Is this true?

JUST A REMINDER....5 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being
released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale
calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS.... To prevent this, call the
following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a
minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS

Yeah its for real and has greatly reduced the calls I get. In fact did not get any telemarketers for 2 years until last week when someone from overseas called claiming they were my credit card company. I said I was on do not call list and they hung up the phone immediately. I reported them so they would get fined. :)

It is real and it works. You should register your number if you do not want sales calls.

It is and it works. Just make sure you are using the real thing and not an imitation:
