It is illegal to encode or to try to encode subliminals in movies and other media.
Then, of course, are the numerous studies which indicate that it has very little value. Some stores have tried it over the background music with mixed results- m .any wayostly nothing changes.
Backwards masking is not illegal- but it also has never been shown to be effective in

I don't think there's much need anymore for subliminal messages... the messages are plain as day:
- "Be like me, the fabulous movie star/singer";
- "Buy this stuff... it will make your life complete";
- " uses it so it must be good";
- "If you don't look like this person, then you don't have any value, so do whatever you can to try and look like them... then people will like you"
The messages are clear: buy more stuff -- because if someone you are manipulated into "admiring" endorses it, you will find happiness.
It's too bad it's all fake.
