If all it will do is idle and not increase engine rpm, first thing I'd check is for a broken or disconnected throttle cable. More info would be helpful. Is the transmission working OK? A 1994 model should be fuel injected. The throttle position sensor could be bad. That would make the most sense. Throttle sensors fail pretty often.

sounds like it might be transmission first check and make sure u have transmission fluid hope i helped
