superdupergr is a superdumbassr..... The sun is "burning" a substance referd to as plasma. It needs no oxygen to burn so is it really burning or just being. Anyway the beauty of the sun is inside of us. The sun radiates everything we find beautiful. It makes us feel safe, and at home. Its something you can count on, no matter what it always comes back. We revolve around it, it holds us close to it, it nourishes our belly's, and provides us with shelter, much like a parent It is beautiful to us because of what it does not what it looks like. Is a burning tennis ball beautiful?

Gee, why am I not surprised at the smattering of "God" answers. If it weren't for this particular G-2 star in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, we wouldn't exist. Maybe we should bring "Ra" back - the ancient Egyptian sun god. Makes more sense than the equivalent of a Supreme Court Justice sitting on a heavenly throne, making a list and checking it twice, already knowing who's gonna be naughty or nice. Sounds like a pretty boring job. Or does "He" play dice?

Up close, it's just a giagantic ball of burning helium and hydrogen. It's an enormous inferno that could destroy anything that touches it.
But from far away, (about 93 million miles) it shines through our atmosphere and causes beautiful glares and light waves. It keeps us warm and allows life to flourish. Space itself is gorgeous - all the planets and stars are beyond comprehension when it comes to beauty.
