The zone you live in would be quite important.
I'm in florida and I don't think we can kill them except
if we get a serious freeze in the winter.

Make sure they are planted properly. Just as deep as
they were in their pot. If they are newly planted make
sure they aren't root bound. (the roots grow in a circle
because they were in a pot too long) If this might be
the case pull them out of the ground, loosen up the roots
so they will grow out, not around. Just rough up the root
system. Make sure you dig an
oversized hole. If the earth is hard the new roots can't
get started. Make sure you loosen the soil and if its
poor, inprove it with Miracle Grow to give them at boost
to get started. Then make sure they are watered well
twice a week (if you aren't getting regular rain) to get
them up and going. Good Luck.

be more brief...depends on what it looks like...maybe dusting or a spray...i use POWERED SEVIN at times,thats when the leaves are curled...
