Windows opens Outlook every time I click on an email address. I want to use the Yahoo mail browser client only. I want to stop Windows from automatically opening Outlook. My computer is running XP personal edition.

I've tried to change the Internet Options in the Control Panel, but it doesn't have Yahoo mail as a choice and it doesn't allow you to choose nothing.

I'm not sure if this feature is available in XP Personal or not. In general you should change the default email of the windows, this can be found in XP professional which gives you choices to change your default email.

Now, go to start > Set program access and defaults > Custom

If this feature is available in XP Personal .. I think it will solve your problem.

That's it :)

You need to go to your internet properties (tools-internet options in IE) and change the default programs for your email.
