Sorry, but i have THREE answers.

in general , 1 page, unless you have done great things over a 40 year career.

BUT, sometimes a 1 page resume, with a different organization/format on the front and back can be VERY persuasive.

1 side would have jobs you have held ( and company names) by date.

The other side would list SKILLS you have, with a paragraph under each describing how/where you have used that skill.

Unless someone specifically ASKS you for a c.v (a curriculum vitae) it just looks arrogant to hand over 5 to 20 pages of minuscule detail.

RESUME should be a short summary.

A one-page limit is absolutely ridiculous for anyone with any length of experience in a professional industry. I can't even get to my first job in one page. Two pages is a good limit, and that's what job consultants recently recommended to me. I've used three with no apparent repercussions.

It does depend in part on your industry. If you are sending your resume to an employer that has to sift through hundreds of resumes, the shorter, the better. If, like me, you tend to rely on headhunters and employers are much more focused, there is more leeway.

No more than two pages, max. Your whole goal with a resume is to get attention and get an interview. Most managers won't spend too much time on a resume, so keep it short, hit the key skills they are looking for early, spell check (please) and make sure there is a nice layout with lots of white space!

depends on how old you are and plus you only add the stuff that makes you qualified for the job if you are 18 or so and you dont have that much experience no more than a page

You never want to go over 2 pages on your resume, the shorter the better, if you can do it on one page thats even better.

One or two pages. Please understand that studies show that potential employers only spend 30-45 seconds looking at a resume. Your personal impression leaves a much greater impact than does your resume.

No more than 2 pages. If possible, try to fit it on one page.
