Add 1 teaspoon of bleach to the fountains.
It will eliminate any fungus or algae and the 'squitos won't lay their eggs there.(let alone survive).
There are mosquito cakes that can be added to fountain/ponds too available at home improvement centers or web sites for ponds. .http://www.lilypons.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/store/st_main.html?p_catid=238 this is the site with mosquito control cakes.
Good luck!

best way is to change the water in the fountain every couple of days to prevent larva from incubating. You can also get a blueing agent (de-algaside) from your local fountain store. good luck

There are pellets or discs of a bacteria you can buy that infect mosquito larvae and kill them. They are intended for pools of water. Check Froogle for "mosquito bacteria": http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=mosquito%20bacteria&btnG=Search+Froogle
