i've been delaying closing an unused bank account and i've been emptying it out. i have the account hooked up to the online service, PayPal. i was using paypal the other day to buy something and i didn't realize that my paypal account was using my bank account for its funds (i wanted it to use my new account). i got charged with an overcharge fee and it's been tacking on $6 a day for the past 4 days. my current balance is $-48 and i can't close the account without paying it off. what do i do!?!??

I would suggest contacting the bank. Usually they will be understanding and will credit it back. It helps if this hasn't happened in the past 12 months.

If that doesn't work, you can always cancel the transaction with your bank. Chances are the fees that Paypal would charge are less than that of your bank.

Either way you want to take care of this right away because you are going to start being charged daily ISF fees.

Sure, name them and whinge. Whilst your bank card is your accountability, and you probably did go over the restrict, you must be competent to get it refunded. I work at a bank, and i refund them at all times. But handiest when you've got not had a reimbursement before, and if you are tremendous high-quality to the man or woman you communicate to. In actual fact, it's not the banks fault, so you have got to reiterate this. It's a laptop method that recognises you're over the restrict - it doesnt care whether it is $1 or $a hundred, it costs you routinely. You need to keep in mind it isn't a individual sitting there charging you, its all automated. However, most refunds are at the name centre operators discretion. If they wont supply it to you, just suck it up. Or, ask to communicate to a supervisor. However do not trouble with the 'in case you dont refund it, i will alternate banks' argument. They dont care, until you've an absolute bucket load of cash. Goodluck!

Just pay it off. It's your fault about those fees, unfortunately.

If you can somehow convince them, then do so. But even though you didn't know, you still violated the rules.
