I had an IUD until last week. It does not make your period more regular. There are two types, the copper IUD and a newer kind called Mirena. The copper has no hormone in it and lasts 10 years. The Mirena has some hormone in it, and for appz. 20% of women, they get a much reduced period or even no period at all. I bled ever day for more than a year when I had it placed, and breakthrough bleeding is common. Eventually, for me, I reached the point that my periods were just spotting, nothing more. However, the hormone isnt going to be enough to regulate your monthly cycles. And also, the IUD goes inside your uterus (hence the name Intra-uterine device) and in the case of the Mirena, does not cause miscarriage, but rather increases the cervical mucous to prevent sperm from entering, prevents your uterus from forming a lining for implantation, and also physically blocks the sperm from entering.

I got pregnant on an IUD 22 years ago, so it isnt the best thing to regulate, the pill would work best in my oppinion. That works more like clock work.

I doubt it.

If your periods aren't regular, it's a hormonal imbalance. You need to take hormones in order to generate a regular cycle.

IUD's just scrape the lining of your uterus. In my opinion, it's a form of abortion if a woman is using it for birth control only.
