probably because superheros, male dancers, and major body builders are the very few men who have legs that when put in pantyhose don't appear to be either tree branches in panty hose or bowls of jello in panty hose (no offense to you guys but you gotta admit its true)

They wear tights... pantyhose are transparent to transluscent, tights are opaque. Good thing too... its hard for a superhero to be taken seriously when everyone is looking at his junk.

They are called tights because they are made of thicker material . Pantyhose are more transparent

Because their legs are tone and muscular. The tights show off all the cuts in a well built muscle.

Either because: a) They're so awesome that they dress like dorks just to dare someone to make of them, so they can kick their butt, or b) because their legs are super white and they're really embarassed about it.

they are tights and i guess it is to give a little imagination the the characters...and they can take those tights all the way to the bank...they make mega bucks doing it
