Need more info. Is the starter turning the engine over each time? Is this when it's hot? Cold? etc.

take air duct off throttle body. spray some carb cleaner or Brakleen in the throttle body. If it starts with no prob, try the fuel filter. Should run you about $25 in SoCal at a Dealer(recommended). If that does not work you might be in for a new fuel pump/sender and for that job I recommend it be done at the Dealer.

you might start with the fuel pump for bad connection on the sending unit I had a 1992 jimmy with a vortec and my wiring on top of the sending unit was breaking and shorting out

you want to check to see if you have spark and fuel delivery. if you have spark i would start by replacing the fuel filter if it has not been done in the last 20k miles.
